Hello everyone and welcome to Tempt My Tummy Tuesday. My sister, Lana, and I co-host this blog carnival. We share recipes, kitchen and cooking tips, restaurant reviews, and anything food related that you want to share. You know the rule of a blog carnival, please mention the blog or TMTT in your post and link back to us. Don’t forget to use Mr. Linky, down below.PLEASE DO NOT HOST YOUR OWN Tempt My Tummy Tuesday with Mr. Linky. Thank You.
(If your post was DELETED, go HERE for an explanation.)
We had lasagna at our LifeGroup Sunday night. It was OH SO GOOD. My friend, Jimette, made it. She said she used TWO POUNDS of CHEESE. Oh my goodness! It was YUMMO! It reminded my that I have not shared one of my favorite lasagna recipes with my Tempt My Tummy Tuesday friends. I have two favorite lasagna recipes. One is my Green Chili Lasagna, the other is the one I am sharing today. This recipe comes from my buddy, Lori. She has it in , of course, our church cookbook. (You know how I love my church cook books!)
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 T. basil
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 medium cans diced Italian -style tomatoes
- 2 (6-oz) cans tomato paste
- 1 (10-oz) pkg. lasagna noodles
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
- 2 T. parsley flakes
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 lb. mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 3 c. Ricotta or cottage cheese
Recipe Notes: You can assemble early; refrigerate. Be sure to allow 15 minutes or so longer in the oven. This can also be assembled and frozen. Cooking time will be longer if not thawed out.
Also, I use the cottage cheese and oven – ready lasagna noodles. I have never had a problem with the oven-ready noodles.
You will LOVE it!
One last thing, one of our Tempt My Tummy Tuesday gals is starting a new blog carnival. She emailed me about it, and I thought it sounded like fun. I wanted to pass on the info.
Nicole at Paige’s Place is hosting a new blog carnival called “Five Ingredient Fridays“. It will be a recipe exchange type of carnival. Nicole will even be having a contest for the best recipe, each week. FUN! So, go and check it out. It sounds like something we TMTT ladies will love.

I also share my daily walk with Christ - how He saved my marriage, strengthened my family, and blesses my life.

LASAGNA!!!!! WONDERFUL. I still have not posted my lasagna I make yearly only at Xmas. Thanks for the reminder. Sounds great!!!!!!
Oh…that sounds so good!
that recipe looks tasty — we don’t have a recipe with Italian sausage yet… it’s going on my list to try!
We love Lasagna in our house! Thanks for hosting!
~Liz
I think I will make your lasagna and my caramel pound cake for our Sunday lunch this Sunday!
Lasagna is one of my fave foods! Your recipe is very similar to the one my family loves….we like to add mushrooms and zucchini sometimes for a change.
SHOOT! I forgot to put Salisbury Steak Meatballs next to my name! DUH!
By the way, I am now craving lasagna! LOL
My oldest can never have enough lasagna, or Italian food for that matter. We’ve dubbed it all “Nicholas food”. Never made lasagna with Italian Sausage, though. Thanks for the recipe–and hosting.
Lasagna… I think that’s one of my love languages.

Lasagne is so delightful! A perfect meal if ever there was one! I think about you every Tuesday : ). (Even when I can’t come over)
Lasagna is one of our favorites and it absolutely has to have lots of cheese. Yummy!
MMMM, okay, I have to quit visiting you and Lana back to back! Now I’m really hungry.
Your recipe sounds much better than the one I have. Definitely am going to have to try this one. Hubs will be happier too I’m betting. Have a great week!

I just made lasagna last night….and get to eat leftovers all week for lunch. This makes me VERY HAPPY!
This looks exactly like a lasagna recipe that an Italian friend of mine makes!! I’ve tried it and it’s out of this world good!
Have a great day…aren’t you having more tests tomorrow? If so, hoping all goes well!!
Yum! I can’t wait to see what everyone else is cooking, too!
Yummy! I have been craving lasagna. I need to gather the ingredients to make it.
That sounds like a wonderful recipe! Thanks for sharing it and for hosting this recipe carnival.

Yum! WE love lasagna!!
I tried some in the crockpot a couple of weeks ago and it came out great!
Love the recipe! We make that once in a while because ours is SO loaded with cheese….but that doesn’t make it a bad thing, right?! LOL! Thanks!!
Happy TMTT!!
Love Lasgana ! Thanks for sharing and thanks so much for hosting.
Keeping you in my prayers for your tests tomorrow. God bless and have a great day !
Mmmm I love lasagne! And the two pounds of cheese? That sounds like my kind of recipe.
I’m with you on the no-bake noodles. I’ve never boiled a noodle a day in my life prior to making lasagne, and I hope I never have to. I like skipping that step!
We love lasagna but I haven’t made it w/regular lasagna noodles in ages. I generally just make it w/macaroni noodles-I’m so lazy that way!
We had lasagna this weekend too! Homemade garlic bread too!
I am linking up late today because I had Bible study at my house this morning and it was CRAZY and one kid fell and broke his nose (blood everywhere).
I had a great recipe that I really wanted to share though.
I always appreciate Tuesdays because of all the great new recipes I discover. Thank you so much.
Ooh, I love making lasagna.
Lasgana is one of those things that my mom makes to perfection, but I haven’t got right yet. Thanks for sharing the recipe. I can’t wait to give it a try!
Yeah! I found you and linked my post. Stop by for some of my husband’s etouffee after you’ve finished that yummy lasagna. I’m all about the YUMMO, and I love to cook Italian.
Ginger
I agree 2 lbs of cheese how could you go wrong, lol!
We love any kind of lasagna! This sounds great.
This is such a fun thing to do!! I don’t remember how I stumbled over here, but I love it. I jumped in for my first one today.
I love lasagna. Your recipe sounds great!
Thanks for visiting me. I don’t know if you noticed, but my link to your site was missing. (someone pointed this out to me today) I added them to my original post, but for some reason it did not publish it. (Weird!) Anyway, my links have been re-added. Thanks for hosting this great event each week.
Shoot….I forgot to put the title of the recipe in my link. Can I edit it somehow?
