I am glad you are joining us for Tempt My Tummy Tuesday, this week. I co- host with my sister, Lana. Please be polite and follow the rules of a blog carnival, mentioning TMTT and linking back to this post from your blog post. Thanks.
Hi everyone. I am currently on the road. Grace and I have been visiting family in Austin, TX. It has been great to see my parents, siblings, neices and nephew. Of course, it would have been better had Grace and I not both been sick. Anyway, it is all good.
My laptop has crashed. My home computer is somewhere between East Texas and St. Louis, MO, in my husband’s truck. Remember, we are in the process of packing up our home and getting settled in St. Louis. So, I am posting a quick TMTT from my father’s computer before Grace and I hit the road to drive back to East TX. There is some winter weather on the way and we need to beat it before we get stuck in it. Texans do not know how to drive in that stuff!
Instead of a recipe, this week, I am telling you about one of the BEST restaruants we discovered while living in the Chicago area. It is called, Heaven on Seven. Their slogan is “The Best Louisianna Cookin’ outside of New Orleans” and I agree! I could tell you how incredible our meal was, the service was great, and I can taste the gumbo as I type this, but you need experience it yourself. So, if you are EVER in the Chicago area, including Naperville, you MUST visit Heaven on Seven. You will not be disappointed. Make sure you order “Sweet Potato Moss” for an appetizer. It is finely shredded sweet potato that has been deep fried and lightly coated with cinnamon. Oh so good. And you must eat some of their gumbo, too!
Okay, well I must get off the computer, finish packing and hit the road. I will be wishing for the the grilled gulf shrimp and andouille over white rice with New Orleans Ravigote sauce while stopping at a clean McDonald’s for a potty break and chicken nuggets, for Grace, instead.
