Tempt My Tummy Tuesday… Girard’s Dressings and a Giveaway

I recently received a case of four very special dressings and vinaigrettes. Girard’s Premium Dressings sent their newest flavors : Apple Poppyseed, Creamy Balsamic and Peach Mimosa along with a bottle of their signature Champagne dressing. I am very excited about my salads, these days! No bland and boring salad with the usual dressing. No ma’am. Each salad becomes a special event when I put Creamy Balsamic or Apply Poppyseed. I am loving my knew found dressing choices. I was at my local Shop ‘n Save, this morning, and priced the Girard’s Premium Dressings. They were marked at $3.93/bottle. Yes, I agree this is more than I would usually spend on a bottle of dressing. However, I could consider making this purchase when having a special dinner which would include an out of the ordinary salad.

Currently, my favorites are the Apple Poppyseed dressing and Peach Mimosa Vinaigrette. You would think they are very sweet – BUT- they are not. There is slight sweetness to them, but not overpowering. They are light and perfect for a summer salad.

These dressing could be used for more than just salads, as well. I will be trying the Creamy Balasmic as a chicken marinade. I also think the Peach Mimosa would make a great glaze for fish. What do you think?

Below is a recipe for Peach Jicama Salad, using the Peach Mimosa Vinaigrette. This recipe was included in my package from Girard’s. I think this salad is PERFECT for summer. Enjoy.

Peach Jicama Salad

3/4 cup Girard’s Peach Mimosa Vinaigrette

1 medium jicama, peeled and julienned ( about 3 cups)

2 cups match stick or shredded carrots

1 red bell pepper, cut into thin strips

1 yellow bell pepper, cut into thin strips

2 peaches, peeled and cut into thin strips

1/4 chopped scallions

1 small jalapeno, minced

1/2 bunch cilantro, coarsely chopped

In large bowl, combine Girard’s Peach Mimosa Vinaigrette with remaining ingredients and gently toss. Serve with favorite grilled fish, seafood or chicken.
