What can you do?

Please meet Elias. She was born, exactly one month, to the day, that my daughter, Grace, was born.   I consider her the newest member of our family.

I recently wrote about our family become a sponsor with Compassion International. We received our sponsor packet, this weekend. During the craziness of our move and trying to care for a 3 year old with the stomach flu – I was stopped in my tracks. I was reminded how blessed we are. As my Gracie was crying, because she was hungry and begging me to let

Elias - 3 years old.

her eat, I saw the face of Elias and countless other children who are hungry daily. I was only letting Grace drink fluids, due to the stomach bug, and did not want to introduce food too soon. I looked at my husband and said, “Imagine all the children who cry out for food, every day.”

Yes, it was a powerful moment. I am so grateful for all God has given me and my family. I am thankful Grace is feeling better, sorry my husband now has the bug, and grateful it has not hit me, yet. However, it is something we will get over. The virus will run it’s course and be gone. We will be healed and back to our regular routine. However, millions of children live in unhealthy living conditions on a daily basis. They deal with chronic digestive diseases caused from malnourishment

and the inhumane living conditions they are exposed to, daily.

Yes, we are blessed. So, we must help!

“ And if anyone gives even a cup of water to
one of these little ones because he is my
disciple, I tell you the truth he will certainly
not lose his reward.” Matthew 10:42 (NIV)

“ Then little children were brought to Jesus
for him to place his hands on them and pray
for them. But the disciples rebuked those
who brought them. Jesus said, ‘Let the little
children come to me, and do not hinder
them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to
such as these.’” Matthew 19:13-14 (NIV)
