Making the move from blogger to WordPress

by Lisa on August 11, 2010

I had blogger/ blogspot figured out. Easy peasy!  However, I wanted to make a change – a big change.  I was ready to move over to I really did not know where to start.  I have many blog friends who moved, over the past year.  So, I knew I could do it too.  But, I needed assistance.

Since I was hoping for a full blog make-over, as well, I needed someone who could take over the whole process for me- design, techie stuff, and the move.   I found the solution to my dilemma  in Sharon.  Sharon can be found at Good, True and Beautiful.   I priced several web designers and found Sharon’s prices and technical assistance offered as a very good deal for the money.  Seriously!

The move was last Friday and there have been no glitches or problems.  Sharon has been easily accessible for question and guidance.  The one on one phone tutorial was so helpful and really opened my eyes to the way my WordPress theme works.

The most comforting this is, I know I can continue to reach out to Sharon to answer question and encourage me as I learn more about WordPress and the inner workings of my blog.

So, are you thinking about making the  move?  I talked about it, and thought about it for over a year.  Don’t wait as long as I did.  It was completely painless! Promise.  And, I recommend you take a look at Sharon’s site.  She is great!

This is an unsolicited post.  I have already paid for all the work Sharon completed.  I do not get anything for singing her praises.  I just want you to know the process can be painless and there are great people, in blogland, to help you do it – without breaking your bank account!

Thanks, Sharon!

Finding a skilled, professional, ethical, and positive person to help me make the move  and get a great blog redesign WORKS FOR ME!  Go to Kristen’s blog for more” Works for Me Wednesday” ideas.

I barely dabbled with blogger before I decided on Wordpress. You will love it! The site looks great!

This is BEAUTIFUL!!! I absolutely love it. I myself am currently working on loading up a wordpress blog as well and will be switching over in the next week or two! I guess we all want a fresh start for the fall – blogs included! 🙂

I just started my site about a month ago…. I bought the domain and decided I’d use Wordpress until I grew my site enough to justify a host. I just couldn’t figure it out…. though I think it’s much better once you use it as a host and get the upgrades. So for now, I’m hanging out on Blogger. 🙂 Love love your new look. I found your site for the Tuesday meme literally just before you switched. Looks wonderful. Sharon looks like the way to go! Happy Weekend!!!

Kim, you made a good decision. I could have never figured out blogging if I started on Wordpress. Staritng on Blogger -learning the ins and outs of posting, blogging, use of HTML are much easier on Blogger. That is what I dd for over 2 years. Good luck with your blogging.
Thanks for the kind words about my new site and I am SO GLAD you found TMTT. I love the idea for your blog. I told my husband, last night, I was feeling guilty because we have been eating out too much. However, are moving this next week and I am trying to pack up the kitchen, etc. Oh well. Once settled in the new house and kitchen – I will be putting a halt to all the excessive eating out! 🙂
