The Christmas Cookies

by Lisa on December 16, 2010

After staying home a couple of days due to minor colds, and then being stuck at home due to icy roads, my 3 1/2 year old was getting stir crazy.  I was too.  So, today, we made Christmas cookies.  If you saw my Tempt My Tummy Tuesday post over AT THE WELL, I shared my sister in law’s cookie and icing recipe.  I made the cookies several day ago, storing them in the freezer until we were ready to decorate.

Today was the day!  Grace was bored and, frankly, getting on my last nerve.  So, out came the butter, powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and food coloring.  It was a messy, and it was fun!  Grace enjoyed herself.  These cookies will be shared with our church family, on Sunday afternoon.  Church members will meet at our church and are then heading out to the neighborhood which our church resides, and go Christmas caroling.  Won’t that be fun? When the caroling is done, we will return to the church for cookies and hot chocolate.  I just love my church!

Now, there are still cookies left in the freezer.  I will take them, on Monday, to a friends house where 3 of her little girls will help Grace decorate more Christmas cookies.  Boy, that really will be an adventure – four girls between 2 1/2 yrs and 6 yrs.  Yippy!  I may be sharing those pictures, as well, next week.  🙂

It was fun finding your link and blog on the Tidy Mom link party today. : ) I always am happy when I find a blog that glorifies Christ! I love my church too and post about our young marrieds ministry and church often. I have a crafty blog, but I also have a Christian wives blog at http://godlyhelpmate.blogspot.com.
Your daughter looks like she really enjoyed the cookie making! She did a great job! What great memories you are creating for Grace.
