I like simple. I like easy. How about you? Today I am sharing some simple four ingredient recipes with you. I hope they can help make a busy day turn simple when preparing dinner.
Chicken Supreme
- 4 chicken breasts (skinned and boned)
- 4 slices onion
- 4-5 potatoes (peeled and quartered)
- 1 can Golden Mushroom soup
Line casserole dish with foil. Place chicken on foil. Top chicken with onion and place potatoes around the chicken. Pour soup over potatoes and chicken. Seal foil tightly over chicken. Bake at 300 for 1 1/2 hours.
Chicken and Rice
- 2 cups cooked chicken (cup up)
- 1 box Uncle Bens Wild Rice Mix
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 soup can milk
Mix all ingredients and pour in greased 2 quart dish. Cover and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
Pork Chop Scallop
- 4 pork chops (1/2 inch thick)
- 1 package Scalloped Potatoes
- 2 Tbsp butter
- Milk (amount called for in box of potatoes)
In skillet brown chops in butter. Remove chops and set aside. Empty potatoes and packet of seasoned sauce mix into skillet. Stir in water and milk called for on package. Heat to boiling, reduce heat and place chops on top. Cover and simmer 35 minutes or until potatoes are tender and chops are thoroughly done.
And for dessert and in keeping with the four ingredient recipe theme :
Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 package yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 package (6oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Mix all ingredients. Drop by teaspoonful on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes at 375.
I hope you found one or more of these recipes easy and helpful. I know we are all super busy, being pulled in so many directions. Wouldn’t it be great if cooking dinner for our family would not be so difficult?
All of these recipes come from a cookbook my mother gave me for Christmas in 1992. The cookbook is “The Four Ingredient Cookbook” by Linda Coffee and Emily Cale.
Blessings to you and have a great week.

I’m sharing a recipe today that could also qualify as a 4 ingredient option. Mushroom Bruschetta Caps. And maybe because I used up all of my “healthy recipe” points in my MBCaps recipe, your 4 ingredient cookies sound especially enticing.
