RO*TEL - It makes a dip good!

I am SO EXCITED about this post! First of all, I get to talk about one of my all time FAVORITE party snacks – QUESO! Secondly, one of my readers will be a BIG WINNER!  I call that a WIN-WIN situation.

I am still amazed when I hear from blog readers who have never made or had Queso – melted cheesy Velveeta and a can of RO*TEL, all mixed together, ready to be dipped and eaten on a sturdy tortilla chip. YUMMO!  Coming from Texas, RO*TEL dip or QUESO is just a standard dish at any good party.  And, if you are talking about watching a sporting event, where food will be involved – it is MANDATORY!

When I was approached by RO*TEL, asking me to promote the “FEED THEIR GAME FACE SWEEPSTAKES“, I gladly said yes.  I was also told I would be able to host a wonderful giveaway for my blog readers. I am one of several bloggers asked to participate in the Share the Queso, Spread the Love campaign. For more info on this campaign and the other bloggers, go HERE.  You will find some handy coupons for RO*TEL as well as wonderful recipes.

So, here is the details for the Feed Their Game Face Sweepstakes:   The grand prize includes free groceries for a year and 2 tickets, flight and lodging to any college football game during the 2011 season. Contestants can come back and enter once a day to maximize their chances of winning. Entry simply requires filling out a contact form.  HERE is a link to the registration form.  Don’t you want to win that !! Groceries for a year!! So, make sure you enter to win!

Now, for those of you who have never made this wonderful snack, here is the easiest and best party recipe you will ever need!

QUESO DIP

  • one box Kraft Velveeta (You can use the 2% Velveeta if watching your waistline. It works great, too!)
  • one can RO*TEL

Combine in a crock pot, turn on high and let the melting magic begin.  You will want to stir periodically.  Once the dip has melted, you can turn the crock pot to low or keep warm, so the dip remains warm throughout your party.  If you are in a hurry, you can cook this in a microwave safe dish, stopping and stirring frequently, until the cheese is melted.  Or you can cook on a stove top.

Did I mention a GIVEAWAY?

One reader from the Blessed With Grace blog will win the  Queso Party Pack!

Queso Prize Pack for my Reader!

The Queso Party Pack includes:

  • All the ingredients needed to make Queso Dip for 100 people!
  • a $50.00 grocery gift card
  • Goodies from FansEdge

What a great giveaway!!! Thanks to RO*TEL for sponsoring this giveaway on my site!

Olivia’s Crouton Company- Review and Giveaway

by Lisa on September 19, 2010

Before our move (one month ago), I was sent a case of Olivia’s Crouton Company products.  Of course with the move and unpacking, my use of these products and review were put on hold.  Well, I am PLEASED to say we finally dove into our case of crunchy, tasty goodness.    Olivia’s Crouton Company was started by Francine (Olivia’s mom), in her Vermont kitchen.  Her story is an interesting one, as the company has grown.  I hope you will take the time to read more about the company and products HERE on her website.   You can also check out their blog at Olivia’s Crouton Blog.  Francine says:

All our products are baked with fresh Vermont breads, special seasonings, and no preservatives or artificial anything.

We produce a wholesome, all natural, uncomplicated product. As a family we enjoy these tasty treats and we hope you will be fond of them too.

Here are a list of products I received:

  • Cornbread Stuffing
  • Traditional Stuffing
  • Parmesan Pepper Croutons
  • Vermont Cheddar and Dill Croutons
  • Multi-Grain with Garlic Croutons
  • Butter and Garlic Croutons
  • Organic Garlic and Herb Croutons

The first Olivia’s inspired meal was pork chops, steamed broccoli and  Olivia’s Cornbread Stuffing.  For the stuffing, I sauteed onion and celery in button.  I then added the cornbread stuffing, salt and pepper to taste and 2 cups chicken broth.  Because I love the flavor of poultry seasoning in my stuffing, I added this seasoning as well.    The stuffing was a hit.  I liked that the stuffing was not overly seasoned, leaving you to season to your own preferences.

Yummy Crouton Goodness!

This week we tore into the Organic Garlic and Herb Croutons.  I thought this flavored crouton would be great addition to our salad and my homemade lasagna.  I was correct.  The croutons were so crunch and fresh tasting.  I appreciated the flavors where not overpowering.  They were not overly seasoned, so they did not distract from the flavors of the salad and lasagna.  My family visiting from out of town agreed.  The croutons were wonderful.

Organic Garlic and Herb

I have already decided my next salad will be have the addition of Olivia’s Vermont Cheddar and Dill Croutons.  Don’t they sound wonderful?  I was really pleased with these products.  They are well made, all natural, no preservatives, AND great tasting!   What do you think?  Would you like to try some of Olivia’s croutons?  Well, one reader will get that chance.

I am hosting a giveaway for Olivia’s Crouton Company.  One winner will receive  one box of Olivia’s Parmesan Pepper Croutons, and one box of Olivia’s Traditional Stuffing!!

PLEASE make sure I have an email address to reach you!!! If you do not leave an email address in your comments, you must make sure an email address is EASILY found on your website!! If I do not find an email address, I will choose another winner.

This giveaway is limited to United States participants.
