A day at the zoo…

Grace and I spent the day at our local zoo, yesterday. Actually, we have an annual family pass (Zoo Friends Members) and have been to the zoo once a week for the past three weeks!! The Saint Louis Zoo is huge and awesome. Each time we visit the zoo, I change up our itinerary making it new every time. But one thing is always the same. Before we leave the zoo, we always ride the train around the entire zoo. Inside the zoo is a Children’s Zoo. Grace loves this area. It is perfect for small children and we spend most of our time in this area. On many trips to the zoo, we never even see the “big” animals of the zoo. We are too busy in the Children’s Zoo, petting the goats, bunnies, guinea pigs, pet turtle… you get the idea. This area also has a splash pad and small playground area. So, the kids can cool off on a summer day. Again, we love it!!  There was an addition, to the main zoo, of the Stingray Cove this past year.  You are able to pet the stingrays as they swim by.  There are also several small sharks in the pool  Grace has fallen in LOVE with the stingrays.  We made time to say hello to the rays, as well.

Yesterday was special as Ariel, Sebatian, and Flounder (The Little Mermaid musical) were visiting the zoo giving autographs and photo ops. Of course they do this to promote the upcoming Broadway musical coming to St. Louis. Grace LOVED seeing Ariel, getting her to sign her Disney Princess autograph book and taking pictures with the princess.
It was a wonderful mommy and daughter day.

We spent the day at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, today.  It was a day I will never forget.  My daughter was so happy.   Grace’s dreams came true as she met her favorite Disney Princesses and my husband and I had the blessing of seeing it all.
